Swim beside the largest fish in the sea — on its terms.
We visit the CONANP-protected viewing zone in the Bay of La Paz, where whale sharks come every year to feed. Access is assigned by lottery; you get your time slot on the day. Small boat, biologist on board, and guided snorkel in turns so the animal is never crowded.
We saw four whale sharks, one so close I felt its shadow. The captain explained the difference between every animal. This was not a tour — it was a biology class in the water.
